Brief Job Description

The selected candidates will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing market trends, alerts, and suspicious activities across various segments, including Equity, F&O, Currency, SLBM, IRF, and Commodity. The job involves surveillance alert analysis, regulatory compliance, audit participation, and handling surveillance systems effectively.

Candidates must have strong analytical skills, knowledge of stock market regulations, and hands-on experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, Python, and macros. Plus, candidates need to be aware that SEBI rules and financial market infrastructure regulations.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Education: Graduate / PG / CA / MBA (Finance) / MMS
  • Experience: 4 to 18 years in capital markets, risk, compliance, or surveillance
  • Must have or be pursuing certifications degree like NISM, NCFM, CFE or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Monitoring: Monitor and supervise market movements, trends, and patterns across various segments (Equity, F&O, Currency, SLBM, IRF, Commodity) and initiate necessary surveillance actions.
  • Surveillance Alerts: Verification of surveillance alerts such as market manipulation, price/volume alerts, order spoofing, front running alerts, pump and dump, insider trading alerts, etc.
  • Surveillance and Preliminary Analysis of Alerts: Process surveillance alerts, conduct preliminary analysis and escalate suspicious transactions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with SEBI and other regulatory frameworks, orders, and corresponding actions.
  • Audit Participation: Attend internal and external statutory and regulatory audits and ensure compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Improve operational efficiencies through process improvements, initiating business requirements, software testing, and implementing new features and functional releases.
  • Surveillance Systems: Oversee the functioning of surveillance systems, processing various surveillance alerts, and taking them to logical conclusions or investigations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Ensure familiarity with applicable regulation for Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) such as SAST, PIT, PFUTP, PMLA, AML, FIU, LODR, ICDR, etc. frameworks.

Skills & Competencies

  • Possess strong analytical and presentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience with additional software tools like Power BI, Tableau, Python, Macros, etc.
  • Understanding of applicable rules, regulations, and acts related to the capital market.
  • Basic knowledge of trades and surveillance in stock markets (equity and derivatives).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and functions in market audits and compliance.
  • Mandatory possession of relevant professional certifications such as: NISM, Risk Management Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent.
